THE BLACK BELT

From CHATGPT....

"A black belt in karate signifies a high level of competence, commitment, and understanding of the art. While the exact definition can vary slightly between styles and organizations, generally:

A black belt is:

A symbol of proficiency in the fundamental techniques (kihon), forms (kata), and sparring (kumite) of karate.

A recognition of discipline, dedication, and time invested in training—typically requiring years of consistent practice.

Often considered the beginning of advanced learning, rather than the end of one's journey in karate."

At Musashi Karate Ayr we have a clear definition of what a Black Belt is....

" A Musashi Black Belt will be able to defend themselves from a violent attack from a grown man or multiple attackers"

With this in mind, we have a structured training programme which takes a minimum of 6 years and covers all the combative ranges, knowledge tests and mindset training. (I'm not going to list everything here but happy to share with anyone interested.)

Getting to the point of this post......

I'm immensley proud to announce that Marco Mori and Darroch Hamilton have successfully passed their Shodan (1st Dan Black Belt) after a fully comprehensive grading and pressure testing this morning.

Congratulations both, very well deserved.

Huge thanks to Colin Steel and Chris McNeillie for sitting on the panel.

Bobby McCrindle & Alastair Brodie for assisting and ensuring their standards are met.

Donna Beckett & Jim Rochford for supporting and helping from the sidelines.
