Last night (12th June) I received my 6th Dan in Karate.

Presented by Colin Steel and infront of all my regular training partners at the club.

What a journey it's been — over 4 decades of dedication, discipline, sweat, broken bones and countless lessons, both on and off the mat.

Thank you to Peter Consterdine (10th Dan Chief Instructor of the Brittish Combat Association) for the award and for supporting the Musashi Karate Ayr club from the start of our journey many years ago.

This grade isn't just about belts or titles; it's a reflection of the people who've taught me, challenged me, stood beside me, and inspired me along the way. I'm deeply grateful to my instructors, students, training partners, and everyone who's supported me over the years.

There are far too many people to mention here that have been involved in my progress, which speaks volumes about the network of martial artists I'm incredibly fortunate to call my friends. (You know who you are )

Karate is a lifelong path, and this milestone is just another step forward. Here's to continuing to learn, teach, and grow. Osu!
